Smokin’ Bands Hit the Right Notes

It’s one of those songs of the classic era known as an anthem.
Like the Star Spangled Banner, only without the national fervor, “Smoke on the Water” gets folks up on their feet and roaring the chorus.
It’s more of a feeling than a song.
On Thursday night, fans of classic rock ‘n’ roll braved threatening storm clouds over Musikfest’s RiverPlace to hear Deep Purple belt out its signature tune and let their ears bleed.
