Some old rockers fade away. Some stay in some strange mutation of their band and play their greatest hits on the county fair circuit. And some continue to do what they love without ever worrying if they'll recapture their glory days or not.
For the guys in Deep Purple - founding members Roger Glover, Ian Gillan and Ian Paice, "new" guitarist Steve Morse (who's been with the band for 14 years) and new keyboardist Don Airey (five years and counting) - it's always been more about the music they create now than reliving their past.
